Editorial policy

This site exists to translate medical evidence into decisions a thoughtful person can actually use. These are the standards every article is held to.

How articles are sourced

Claims are anchored to professional guidelines and primary literature — bodies like the USPSTF, ACC/AHA, ADA, and the Menopause Society, and studies indexed in the medical literature. Quantitative claims are cited inline with the journal and year, and where evidence is observational rather than causal, that distinction is stated plainly. Every article is dated.

Calibrated, not hyped

Articles aim to give you specifics — real numbers, thresholds, and effect sizes — alongside an honest account of what the evidence cannot yet tell us. Where a popular claim outruns the data, the article says so.

Authorship and review

Articles are written and reviewed by Dr. Chen, a practicing internal medicine physician. Drafting is sometimes assisted by AI tools, but every article is reviewed by Dr. Chen and its citations checked before publishing.

Corrections

Accuracy matters more than ego. If you spot an error, reply to any newsletter email and it will be reviewed; substantive corrections are made and noted.

Independence and funding

This site currently carries no advertising, sponsorships, or affiliate relationships, and Dr. Chen's affiliation with Weill Cornell Medicine is noted for identification only — the institution does not endorse or sponsor this site. If a financial relationship is ever introduced, any material connection will be disclosed clearly and conspicuously, in line with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidance.
